We are excited about what 2009 holds for us as a church. This year our focus is:
Transforming Lives, Changing Communities!
Rom 12:2 (tniv) "Be transformed ... then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."
We see transformation as the progressive and ongoing measurable, supernatural impact of the presence and power of God working in and through the Church in people, and in society. With this in mind, we are believing to see transformation in the following 3 areas:
- Personal Transformation: Because of who God is, to behold Him and remain unchanged is impossible. 2 Cor 3:18 (tniv) "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
- Relational Transformation: When we encounter God's presence, transformation occurs that goes beyond the reach of merely good ideas - this is transformation that first takes place within us and then causes the transformation of relationships around us. John 13:34-35 (tniv) "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
- Community Transformation: When God invades a person's life, things change. Not only that, but the impact of that life on the world changes it. Acts 17:6 (nkjv) "... The Rulers of the city, crying out, "These who have turned the world upside down, have come here too."
We want our desire for & walk with God to so transform us, that people are drawn to Him as they see us love Him and in word & action, love those around us!
